I’ve entered a stage of my life where I find it tempting to wonder, “What would I change, if I were to do it all over again?” I try not to go down that path. Given the chance, I suppose most of us would like to believe that if we could do it all over again, this time we’d do it right. No, that’s not true. No, we would not. Because even if we had the opportunity to relive our lives, with all that we’ve learned; we’d still be the same people, with the same desires, lusts, impulses, cultural biases, misconceptions and prejudices. We might avoid every one of the mistakes of our pasts; but I’ve no doubt, we’d make others just as bad. And, quite likely: worse. What would we do, if given that chance to relive our lives? We would screw it all up in a completely different way. That’s human nature. I accept it as such. No, I would not want to “do it all over again.” Charles
